The way his peers handled Evan Hill, a New Zealander, made it difficult for him to cope. He was teased and called names like “rabbit boy” because of his very prominent front teeth. Not only did it make him a target of bullying, but it also prevented him from fully closing his mouth.
His parents knew exactly what their son was going through, but they were powerless to help because they couldn’t afford to cover the cost of an operation.
Evan’s problems weren’t known to the public until a magazine decided to publish his story, which caused sympathy for him. Strangers who had never met him were so moved by it that they started a fundraising effort to assist him in raising the funds he needed to transform his life.
“I don’t know where we would have been today without the generosity we had,” Evan’s mother explained.
To support the good cause of giving a little youngster a sense of self-worth, hundreds of individuals gave.
There was money left over after the surgery was paid for, so Evan’s family decided to donate it to a nonprofit that helps kids who can’t afford surgery.
The change is amazing in every way. Evan now appears to be a brand-new boy who is content with his appearance.
